Bio:
Two-year starter who made 23 tackles (three for loss) with three sacks and one forced fumble as a senior. Suffered a season-ending foot injury two games into the 2016 season. Led Utah with seven sacks and four forced fumbles and posted 41 tackles (eight for loss) with 10 pass breakups as a sophomore. Redshirted the 2014 season after transferring from UCLA.
Pos:
Slightly undersized pass rusher with outstanding athleticism. Plays with balance and body control and easily moves about the field. Quickly changes direction, chases plays laterally and pursues the action with speed. Resilient, works to get off blocks and gives effort.
Neg:
Has a thin build. Easily controlled at the point of attack. Marginally productive and statistics do not match his athletic ability.
Analysis:
Fitts is a front-seven prospect who flashed ability the past three seasons but never took his game to the next level. He offers possibilities as a defensive end in a four-man front or standing over tackle but is an overaged prospect who must put the pedal to the metal in camp.
