Bio:
Two-year starter who rushed 139 times for 637 yards and four touchdowns and caught 30 passes for 291 yards and one TD as a senior. Named Honorable Mention All-Big 12 and led TCU with 203 carries, 1,042 rushing yards and 12 rushing TDs while adding 47 receptions for 417 yards and two scores in 2016. Combined to rush 102 times for 422 yards and three scores during his first two seasons with the Horned Frogs.
Pos:
Well-rounded ball carrier who’s also effective as a pass catcher out of the backfield. Quick-footed, displays great vision and makes outstanding use of blocks. Will pick and choose his spots on the inside, strings several moves together over the course of a single run and shows burst. Runs with an aggressive style, keeps his feet moving on contact and shows some strength. Solid pass catcher who snatches the ball away from his frame and picks up yardage after the catch.
Neg:
Not a truly creative ball carrier who can make something out of nothing. Won’t beat defenders into the open field or run to daylight. Lacks the size to be a power ball carrier.
Analysis:
Hicks was productive for TCU as a ball carrier and a pass catcher out of the backfield and has the ingredients necessary to project as a third-down back at the next level.
