Bio:
Three-year starter who played mostly right tackle until his senior season, when he moved to center full-time. Made one start at left tackle in 2015. Didn’t allow a sack in any of his 13 games played in 2014 on the right side.
Pos:
Hard-working college blocker with an underrated game. Fires off the snap, shows explosiveness at the point and plays with a nice degree of quickness. Sets with a wide base, blocks with lean and stays square. Seals defenders from the action with solid positioning, plays with a nasty attitude and works through the whistle. Strong and controls opponents once engaged in blocks.
Neg:
Occasionally late with his hands. Ineffective blocking in motion. Must improve his balance.
Analysis:
Kieler was ignored by scouts entering the season but offers the size and growth potential to get consideration as a backup right tackle.
