Had 39 tackles (4.5 for loss), three interceptions and five pass breakups in 2015. Started 12 games at safety as a sophomore and posted 65 tackles, an interception and three pass breakups. Long, athletic cornerback with great potential. Plays smart, physical football, consistently tracks the pass in the air and positions himself to defend the throw. Effectively times his pass defenses, uses his frame to box out receivers and battles throughout the action. Uses his long arms to knock the pass away. Fluid pedaling in reverse, quick flipping his hips and uses his length as an advantage. Forcefully makes his way up the field, defeats blocks and defends the run. Instinctive and does a solid job reading and diagnosing the action.
Possesses poor hands for the interception. Lacks great vertical speed. Has a thin build.
King displayed terrific progress in his game the past two seasons and has the length and aggressiveness, as well as the instincts, that teams want in a starter. He may need a bit of time to develop his game and get stronger, but King has all the makings of a No. 1 cornerback at the next level.
