Pos:
Sporadic starter the past three seasons who played with the first team on a full-time basis as a sophomore season in 2015. Once-highly rated quarterback who suffered a major knee injury in 2016 and has not been the same since. Instinctive, quickly reads and diagnoses and plays physical football. Works to get off blocks and makes his way up the field to stop screen passes and running plays. Engages receivers at the line of scrimmage to slow their release from the snap, fluidly transitions with opponents off the line and keeps the action in front of him. Plays within himself and within the system. Displays a solid burst to the ball out of his plant.
Neg:
Lacks long speed. Opponents run away from him the open field. Seems fractionally as quick or as explosive as he was early in his career since his injury.
Analysis:
Off his sophomore film of 2015, Webster was developing into a top-rated cornerback prospect before he suffered a devastating knee injury during the first game of the 2016 season. He's never been the same since, and although he’s a smart and instinctive defensive back, Webster moves towards the draft as a medical question.
