Bio:
Three-year starter named Honorable Mention All-Sun Belt in 2016 after making 32 catches for 362 yards and two touchdowns. Earned Second Team All-Sun Belt honors as a junior with 39 receptions for 522 yards and six touchdowns. Made five receptions as a backup in 2014 after starting as a true freshman and catching 14 passes for 232 yards and one touchdown.
Pos:
Nice-sized tight end who is very effective as a pass catcher. Uses his frame to shield defenders or protect the pass, makes the difficult catch with opponents draped on him and consistently extends to snatch the ball away from his frame. Displays soft, quick hands, easily adjusts to the errant throw and is solid in the short or intermediate field. Bends his knees blocking with leverage, keeps his head on a swivel and always looks for someone to hit. Displays a lot of ability blocking at the second level.
Neg:
Average speed and not a tight end who stretches the seam. Rarely finishes blocks.
Analysis:
Rucker is a solid prospect who catches the ball well and gets the job done as a blocker. He lacks great athleticism but has enough ability to make a roster as a third tight end if he produces in camp this summer.
