Bio:
Graduate transfer from Louisville who earned First Team All-Conference USA honors in 2016 after leading the conference with 131 tackles (13 for loss) and recording six sacks and two interceptions. Made 113 tackles, including six for loss, in his three seasons with the Cardinals.
Pos:
Productive run-defending linebacker who is very effective when focused on his game. Quick up the field defending the run, breaks down well and wraps up tackling. Covers a good amount of area, displays solid range and quickly gets outside the numbers to the flanks in pursuit of the action. Gets depth on pass drops.
Neg:
Seems to go half-speed if the play isn’t in his immediate vicinity. Does not play with a great sense of urgency. Struggles getting off blocks.
Analysis:
Brown was ultra-productive defending the run and shows ability in coverage. He has the makings of a 3-4 inside linebacker, and Brown will secure a spot at the next level if the light goes and he consistently plays to his level of ability.
