Bio:
Two-year starter who made 67 tackles with one forced fumble and seven pass breakups in 2017. Recorded 61 tackles (three for loss) with seven PBUs as a junior. Combined to post 37 tackles during his first two seasons at Western Carolina.
Pos:
Small but athletic corner with terrific ball skills. Quickly moves in every direction of the field and displays recovery speed and an excellent closing burst. Instinctive, plays heads-up football and shows good recognition. Effective backed off the line of scrimmage, battles throughout the action and has a nice move to the throw. Gets his head around to locate the pass in the air when his back is to the ball. Violently defends the run and gives effort.
Neg:
Late to react to receivers’ moves off the line. Does not slow down opponents with jams at the line of scrimmage. Prefers to side shuffle and rarely backpedals downfield. Short and struggles with taller receivers.
Analysis:
Crossen is a tremendous athlete with next-level speed but poor size. He offers potential in dime packages in man-off coverage and can serve on coverage units.
