Named Second Team All-Big 12 as a sophomore after making 50 catches for 868 yards and six touchdowns. Speedy wideout who flashes big-play ability. Effective making the deep reception, adjusts to the errant throw and catches the ball in stride. Tracks the pass in the air and consistently extends to make the reception away from his frame before quickly turning up field. Relatively effective running after the catch, fluid and very athletic. Gets vertical and works to come away with the difficult reception.
Must do a better job using his frame to protect the pass. Loses focus and concentration and drops a lot of catchable throws. Does not consistently come away with the contested catch.
Cannon offers a good degree of athleticism as well as upside potential but is still rough around the edges and needs a lot of work to complete his game. He’s a developmental prospect who made a mistake entering the draft.
