Bio:
Two-year starter at Montana who transferred from Oregon State. Made 41 tackles with three interceptions and one pass breakup in 2017. Named Honorable Mention All-Big Sky and recorded 74 tackles (4.5 for loss), four interceptions and four PBUs as a junior. Started eight games for Oregon State in 2015 and made 54 tackles before a concussion ended his season after eight games. Made three starts as a redshirt freshman and posted 56 tackles (five for loss), one sack, one forced fumble and three pass breakups.
Pos:
Hard-working safety with poor size and speed. Keeps the action in front of him, fires up the field and hits hard. Efficient, takes proper angles to the action and wraps up tackling. Effectively reads and diagnoses the action and has an explosive closing burst.
Neg:
Displays average quickness and lacks top lateral speed. Best up the field and struggles in center field.
Analysis:
Strong was a solid small-school safety but is limited by size and speed. He offers possibilities as a dime back in zone coverage but must play well on special teams to make it at the next level.
