Bio:
Four-year starter who earned AP, STATS, AFCA and Walter Camp First Team FCS All-America honors. Earned First Team All-Patriot League in each of his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. Named Second Team All-Patriot League as a freshman. Was the only member of his senior class to start all 44 games from 2013-16. Was voted team captain for both his junior and senior years and earned a Senior Bowl invite.
Pos:
Small-school tackle whose draft stock has been on the rise the past three months. Sets with a wide base, starts with good knee bend and displays strength at the point. Explosive, fires into blocks and keeps his feet and hands active throughout the action. Sized well, jolts defenders with outstanding hand punch and flashes the ability to be an overwhelming force. Anchors in pass protection, flashes footwork off the edge and displays decent lateral blocking range. Possesses an NFL body.
Neg:
Stiff, struggles to adjust and is often beaten by inside moves. Gets upright as the play proceeds. For the most part does not drive opponents off the line run blocking or play with a nasty attitude.
Analysis:
Davenport is a physical specimen with next-level size, strength and upside. Lining up at left tackle at Bucknell, he’s better off as a strong-side blocker but needs to improve his run-blocking strength and consistently play with proper fundamentals.
