Pos:
Late-developing small-school blocker with tremendous upside. Explosive, fires off the snap into blocks and keeps his feet moving. Stays square, shows strength at the point and outpositions opponents from the action. Quick out to the second level, relatively effective in motion and moves well on his feet. Can slide his feet in pass protection, covers a good amount of area and displays lateral range off the edge. Sets with a wide base, works to bend his knees and quickly gets his hands into opponents. Has a thick, next-level build. Controls defenders once engaged at the point and gets movement as a run blocker.
Neg:
Needs to consistently play with a nasty attitude. Really doesn't finish blocks. Shows hesitation, which hurts his ability to finish blocks.
Analysis:
Miles was not graded by NFL scouts before the season, but he had a terrific senior campaign and displayed a lot of skill during the week of Shrine Game practices. He projects as a guard at the next level and comes with big upside. Miles may struggle to make a roster this fall but is worth a practice-squad stash for future development.
