Bio:
Junior-college transfer who caught 22 passes for 263 yards and three touchdowns in 2017. Made nine receptions for 48 yards and one score as a junior.
Pos:
College receiver who projects to tight end but has offensive lineman size. Runs solid routes for big man, displays good hand-eye coordination and extends to make receptions away from his frame. Moves incredibly well down the field, uses his frame to shield away defenders and takes big hits but holds onto passes. Explosive and effective as a blocker.
Neg:
Lacks naturally soft hands. Marginally productive. More of a finesse player.
Analysis:
Thomas has awesome physical skills but is a long way from being a polished football player. He’s a late-round choice who may eventually end up on a practice squad but comes with exciting upside, which will lead to a long career at the next level if he hits his potential.
