Bio:
Four-year starter who earned the 2016 Gene Upshaw award along with Associated Press Little All-America First Team, D2Football.com All-America First Team and AFCA All-America First Team honors. Was the first offensive lineman to be named PSAC East Offensive Athlete of the Year in 2016. Started in all 43 of his career appearances. Was voted team captain for his final two seasons.
Pos:
Relatively athletic small-school left tackle who projects to guard. Strong, gets movement run blocking and drives opponents deep into the second level. Relentless, stays with blocks and can be overwhelming at the point. Sets with a wide base, keeps his head on a swivel and works well with linemates. Patient, makes outstanding use of body positioning and squares into defenders to seal them from the action. Displays footwork off the edge and decent lateral blocking range.
Neg:
Must do a better job bending his knees and blocking with leverage. Must improve his use of angles. Occasionally late with his hands.
Analysis:
Entering the season Morgan was not mentioned by scouts despite having in All-American career at Kutztown. He’s a late-round choice with enough tools to develop as a guard for a conventional offense or zone-blocking scheme.
