Pos:
Nice-sized, athletic cornerback who displayed great skill before he got hurt in 2017. Fluidly flips his hips in transition off the line, runs downfield with opponents and shows the ability to stay on the receiver’s hip out of breaks. Locates the pass in the air, displays a terrific closing burst and possesses outstanding hands for the interception. Quick to read and diagnose, effective facing the action and shows good route recognition in zone. Consistently tracks the pass in the air and displays a sense of timing. Plays big football, defeats blocks and gives effort against the run.
Neg:
Seemed to lose an edge off his game last season. A bit slow out of his transition. Occasionally loses where his receiver is on the field.
Analysis:
Miller presented himself as a big-time cornerback prospect and a potential top-40 choice during the first half of the 2017 campaign, but a knee injury shelved him for the second half of the year and seemed to hamper him at the start of the 2018 season. If Miller gets a clean bill of health and gets his game back on track, he offers starting potential at the next level. At the very least, he could be a good dime back in a zone system.
