Three-year starter who earned First Team All-ACC honors as both a junior and a senior. Made 46 receptions for 736 yards and seven touchdowns in 2016 after posting 40 catches for 525 yards and eight scores in 2015. Two-time John Mackey Award finalist as one of the nation’s top tight ends. Clemson’s all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns by a tight end.
Long, athletic tight end with terrific upside. Fluid and smooth, displays reliable hands and pulls the fastball from the air. Gets vertical and fights to come away with the difficult reception, exposes himself to the big hit and wins out for the contested catch. Nicely makes the reception in contorted positions at full speed. Lines up the in the slot and looks like a tall possession receiver. Keeps the play in bounds working to pick up positive yardage after the catch.
Possesses more built-up speed rather than a burst. Gives effort blocking but shows minimal strength and struggles taking out linebackers at the second level.
Leggett is a reliable pass-catching tight end with growth potential and a large degree of upside. He could begin his career as a move tight end and then eventually work more as an in-line player as he gets bigger and stronger.
