Bio:
Two-year starter who transferred from Garden City Community College after playing his first two college seasons at Alabama. Made 78 tackles (five for loss) with two interceptions and 13 pass breakups as a senior. Led Memphis with 88 tackles (5.5 for loss) and added one interception and eight PBUs in 2016.
Pos:
Former Alabama recruit who flashes ability. Fires up the field, squares into ball carriers and a solid run defender. Gets depth on pass drops in zone coverage and effectively reads and diagnoses the action.
Neg:
Indecisive. Inefficient and does not take proper angles to the action. Liability over the slot receiver.
Analysis:
Cook is a run-defending safety who registered two productive seasons at Memphis but lacks the size, athleticism and upside to make a roster in the NFL.
