Pos:
Celebrated college left tackle who projects to guard at the next level. Phenomenal technician who bends his knees, blocks with terrific pad level and effectively uses his hands throughout the action. Starts with a nice kick slide in pass protection and keeps his feet moving. Patient, stays square, makes outstanding use of angles and consistently seals defenders from the play to protect his quarterback's blindside. Possesses outstanding football intelligence, works well with linemates and keeps his head on a swivel. Explosive at the point, stays with assignments and uses all his assets to their maximum.
Neg:
More of a finesse blocker who really doesn't get much movement as a run blocker. Lacks classic footwork off the edge. Not quick out to the second level or agile.
Analysis:
Williams is a terrific prospect for the next level but is overrated in many quarters. I firmly believe he has starting potential at guard or possibly center and projects well in the middle of Round 1 rather than the top-10 choice at left tackle many presently predict.
