Three-year starter at right tackle who missed three games as a senior with an ankle injury. Started all 13 games as a junior and earned Honorable Mention All-Big Ten. Named Academic All-Big Ten all four seasons with the Golden Gophers.
Large college tackle best in a very small area. Strong, stays square and jolts defenders with violent hand punch. Sets with a wide base, gets movement run blocking and buries defenders at the point of attack once engaged. Gets his hands into opponents to steer them from the action and anchors in pass protection. Works to bend his knees, blocks with leverage and displays a good degree of quickness in his game.
Stiff, struggles to adjust and gets exploited by speed rushers. Lacks footwork off the edge and lumbers around the field.
Pirsig has the size and temperament to develop into a backup right tackle for the next level but must play in a system that restricts the amount of area he is asked to cover.
