Bio:
Started five games at defensive tackle in 2015 before taking over as a full-time starter in 2016. Posted 26 tackles (3.5 for loss), 2.5 sacks and seven quarterback hurries despite missing two games with a broken thumb. Made 27 tackles (four for loss) with 3.5 sacks in 2015. Sophomore totals include 24 tackles (three for loss) and one sack.
Pos:
Tough, hard-working defensive line prospect with athletic limitations. Quick off the snap, displays a variety of moves with his hands and gets leverage on opponents. Tough to move off the point, keeps his feet moving and occupies the gaps. Attracts double-team blocks in the middle of the line allowing teammates to make plays on the ball. Fights hard, plays through the whistle and competes.
Neg:
Does not make a lot of plays on the ball. Average pass rusher. Displays stiffness in his game.
Analysis:
Ivie is a try-hard defender who gets the most from his skill but possesses limited upside. His approach and attitude could help him find a spot as a backup tackle in a four-man line.
