Bio:
Three-year starter who played five games in 2016 before suffering a season-ending lower leg injury. Played right tackle his first three seasons with the Utes before moving to the pivot. Named Second Team All-Pac-12 in 2015.
Pos:
Athletic tackle prospect who looked good at center last season before having his year cut short by injury. Agile, flexible and very quick. Correctly places his hands into opponents, keeps his feet moving and shows explosiveness at the point. Easily moves about the field, shows quickness out to the second level then adjusts to linebackers and can hit a moving target. Displays good footwork, slides in space and is quick in all his actions.
Neg:
Plays with average strength and struggles controlling defenders. Gets almost no movement run blocking. Must be quicker recognizing the blitz. Coming off a season-ending injury.
Analysis:
Entering the season, Dielman was projected as a legitimate mid-round choice before succumbing to injury. He’s an athletic prospect who must add bulk to his frame and get stronger, but he offers a good degree of upside.
