Bio:
Three-year starter who earned Second Team All-Conference USA honors and rushed for 1,215 yards and 16 touchdowns on 188 carries with 24 receptions for 168 yards in 2017. Carried 169 times for 936 yards and 14 scores and caught 29 passes for 247 yards and one TD as a junior. Posted 830 yards and one touchdown on 155 carries in 2015. Rushed 49 times for 224 yards and one score as a true freshman.
Pos:
Very productive ball carrier with the ability to create yardage. Displays quickness in his hands, immediately finds running lanes and shows burst through the hole. Patient, multi-cut ball carrier who strings multiple moves together and possesses the agility necessary to turn the corner. Keeps his feet moving on contact and works runs. Nicely adjusts to errant throws as a pass catcher and extends his hands to snatch passes away from his frame. Picks up and stays with blocking assignments.
Neg:
Not a big-bodied ball carrier. Easily brought down at the point by a single opponent. Cannot run to daylight. Drops some very catchable throws on occasion. Average blocking strength.
Analysis:
Wilson is a multi-dimensional ball carrier who needs space to work. His ability to create yardage and catch the ball out of the backfield could help him grab a roster spot as a third-down back.
