Bio:
First-year starter who transferred from junior college. Led Georgia in receiving with 45 receptions for 720 yards and seven touchdowns in 2017. Made 16 catches for 192 yards and one score as a junior.
Pos:
Tall, game-controlling receiver who comes off a breakout campaign. Displays great timing and anticipation, plays like a big-bodied receiver and consistently wins out for contested grabs. Comes over the middle of the field, extends his hands to offer the quarterback a target and makes difficult catches with defenders draped on him. Displays timing and anticipation, sacrifices his body to make receptions and shows focus and concentration. Comes back to the ball and always works to make himself an available target.
Neg:
Lacks a quick release off the line of scrimmage and plays to one speed. Does not run sharp routes. Drops easy receptions on occasion.
Analysis:
Ignored by scouts entering the season, Wims turned in a tremendous senior campaign and now moves towards the draft as a legitimate mid-round choice. He’s a big-bodied wideout who will be a terrific third-down and red-zone target if he continues to improve his game.
