Two-year starter. Recorded a career-best 3.5 sacks and 36 tackles (seven for loss) as a senior. Had 11.5 tackles for loss during the 2015 season and led the team in quarterback hurries and forced fumbles. Had 24 tackles (six for loss) and two sacks as a part-time starter during his sophomore season.
Underrated and explosive interior tackle with potential as a 3 technique defender. Fires off the snap with a great first step, displays a good change of direction and moves well laterally pursuing the play. Gets down the line then outside the box in pursuit, slides off blocks and keeps his feet and hands active throughout the action. Possesses a closing burst, attacks the action and plays with a nasty attitude.
Lacks bulk and easily removed from his angle of attack by a single blocker. Marginally productive in college. Suffered an injury late in the season and was unable to participate in the shrine game.
Clements was overshadowed by many of the bigger names on the Illinois defensive line but has the skill set and athleticism to be used as a 3 technique tackle if healthy.
