Pos:
Tall corner with rare athleticism. Plays with a smooth style, easily flips his hips in transition and tracks the pass well in the air. Aggressive, mixes it up with receivers throughout the route and generally reads and diagnoses the action well. Displays the ability to burst to the ball out of his plant, works well with safeties to bracket opponents over the middle of the field and gives effort against the run. Solid special-teams player.
Neg:
Has a very thin body of work and was just a one-year starter. Had several injuries throughout his career and may be a medical risk. Still more athlete than football player.
Analysis:
Dean combines rare athleticism with next-level size and flashed ability last season at Auburn. Never a consistent starter, he was more of a nickel back who played over the slot receiver, but he did a good job of it. Dean comes with tremendous upside potential but needs a lot of work and must show durability on the field.
