Bio:
Junior college transfer who started his final season at New Mexico State. Earned First Team All-Sun Belt honors and led the conference with 76 receptions, tied for the Sun Belt lead with nine receiving touchdowns and posted 1,079 receiving yards in 2017 to earn an invitation to the Senior Bowl. Caught 23 passes for 283 yards and five TDs in 2016 after transferring from junior college.
Pos:
Large possession receiver who comes off a career season. Plays heads-up football, comes across the middle of the field to make himself an available target and works well with his quarterback. Gets vertical and extends to make difficult catches and exposes himself to big hits. Takes a pounding but comes away with difficult receptions. Tracks the pass in the air, makes catches in contorted positions and looks the ball into his hands. Fluid releasing off the line of scrimmage and runs solid routes for a bigger receiver.
Neg:
One-speed wideout who shows almost no burst. Unnecessarily clutches the ball against his frame at times. Doesn’t display naturally soft hands.
Analysis:
Entering his senior season ignored by scouts, Scott turned in several terrific performances and now moves towards the draft as a last-day pick. He lacks next-level speed and quickness, but Scott is a big-bodied possession receiver who wins out for contested throws and would be effective on third down and in the red zone.
