Bio:
Junior college transfer who moved to tight end before the 2014 season and started his final two years with the Cowboys. Caught 32 passes for 515 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior after making 26 receptions for 355 yards and three scores in 2015. Sophomore totals include 17 catches, 244 receiving yards and two touchdowns in his first year as a tight end. Started his college career as a walk-on quarterback at Nevada before transferring to junior college for one year in 2013.
Pos:
Athletic tight end prospect who displays himself as a solid pass catcher. Athletic, has good speed for a tight end and easily makes the reception in stride, adjusting to the errant throw. Competes to come away with the contested reception, fights in a crowd and extends to make the catch away from his frame. Bends his knees, blocks with proper pad level and stays square. Works his blocks.
Neg:
Possesses average run-blocking strength. More of a one-speed tight end. Occasionally clutches or grasps the ball against his frame to secure the pass.
Analysis:
Hollister has shown consistent progress in his game the past two years and possesses the size and athleticism to line up as a third tight end on Sundays. He offers terrific upside but needs to improve his playing strength.
