Pos:
Large right-tackle prospect with decent upside. Works to bend his knees, stays square and easily controls defenders once engaged in the block. Keeps his feet moving, quickly gets to the second level and gets good fits on linebackers to seal them from the action. Stays with assignments, correctly places his hands into opponents and turns them from the action and opens running lanes. Displays a lot of straight-ahead power.
Neg:
Lined up at left tackle for Utah but is likely better off on the right side. Stiff, lacks agility and struggles to finish blocks. Really cannot slide off the edge and displays limited range.
Analysis:
Barton has next-level size and has flashed ability throughout his college career. He comes off a terrific performance during practices for the Shrine Game and is a late-round prospect who, at the very worst, should be stashed on a practice squad this fall.
