Pos:
Tough, athletic college tackle who projects to guard in the NFL. Quickly sets up off the snap, keeps his feet moving and displays lateral range off the edge. Keeps his head on a swivel, works well with teammates and always looks for someone to hit. Explosive at the point, blocks with proper pad level and controls opponents once engaged in the block. Stays square throughout the action, jolts defenders with violent hand punch and easily knocks them from their angles of attack. Turned in a tremendous combine workout.
Neg:
More athlete than top-notch blocker. Gets narrow-based in his setup at times. Rough around the edges with his mechanics. Tends to fall off blocks rather than finish them. Gets twisted and must improve his balance.
Analysis:
Opeta possesses the size, athleticism and skill to play at the next level, but he must polish almost every aspect of his game. He's worth consideration in the late rounds, and if he's unable to make an active roster this fall, Opeta should be placed on a practice squad because of his upside potential.
