Bio:
Four-year starter who earned Third Team All-MAC honors and tied for the team lead with eight pass breakups while making 62 tackles and intercepting one pass in 2017. Named First Team All-MAC and led Miami-Ohio with 11 pass breakups while finishing tied for the team lead with four INTs and adding 67 tackles as a junior. Suffered a season-ending back injury three games into the 2015 season. Led the team with 97 tackles (three for loss) and posted two interceptions and three PBUs as a sophomore. Started nine games as a true freshman and recorded 54 tackles (three for loss), a team-high three interceptions and four pass breakups.
Pos:
Small but explosive cornerback best facing the action. Quick flipping his hips to transition off the line, stays on the receiver’s hip out of breaks and has an explosive burst to the ball out of his plant. Shows the ability to make plays with his back to the ball, tracks the pass in the air and plays faster than his 40 time. Displays good instincts and recognition, works well with safeties and gives effort defending the run. Very competitive in all aspects of the game.
Neg:
Lack of size is a hindrance, as he loses out in battles. Prefers to side shuffle down the field, which hurts his ability to quickly break to the throw.
Analysis:
Harding lacks next-level height but plays big football and could line up in a zone system or any scheme which has him facing the action. He has the underlying ability to be used as a return specialist, which would enhance his chances of making it at the next level.
