Intense, rough-and-tumble lineman who gives great effort and consistently gets leverage on opponents. Effectively diagnoses the action, fluidly changes direction and moves well laterally to get down the line of scrimmage and pursue the action. Shows a variety of moves with his hands to protect himself and get off blocks. Focused on by opponents but holds his ground or gets push up the field.
Neg:

Analysis:
Phillips is a strong, intense defensive lineman who could be used at tackle or as a two-gap end. He possesses big upside and should only improve as he continues to mature and learns the NFL game.
