Bio:
Three-year starter who earned First Team All-Mountain West honors and led the nation with 173 tackles as a senior. Led San Jose State with 13 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles and added two sacks and three pass breakups. Led the team with 99 tackles and 11.5 tackles for loss and recorded 6.5 sacks, one interception and two forced fumbles in 2016. Made 80 tackles (4.5 for loss) with one sack and one forced fumble as a sophomore.
Pos:
Explosive run-defending linebacker who projects as a two-down player. Fires up the field and quickly fills gaps. Gets penetration behind the line of scrimmage to force ball carriers to reroute the angles of their runs. Shows quickness, moves well laterally and flows to the action outside the box in pursuit. Explosive, has a closing burst and squares into tackles. Effectively reads and diagnoses plays, shows good change of direction and takes proper angles. Rarely off his feet, uses his hands to protect himself and stays balanced.
Neg:
Lack of height will cause mismatch issues in coverage. More of a drag down tackler and struggles to bring opponents down at the point of attack.
Analysis:
Ginda has been an ultra-productive tackling machine for San Jose State and offers possibilities on the inside of a 3-4 alignment.
