Bio:
Three-year starter at defensive end who tallied 39 tackles (5.5 for loss) and 2.5 sacks in 2016. Limited to eight games while recovering from offseason foot surgery that cost him the final two games of his junior season. Led the Rebels with 10 quarterback hurries in 2015, adding 32 tackles (4.5 for loss) with one sack. Posted 38 tackles (5.5 for loss), 0.5 sacks and five hurries in 2014. Transferred to Ole Miss after spending his freshman season at Florida International.
Pos:
Nice-sized defensive end who flashes skill but showed a lot of inconsistency on the college level. Plays with good lean, bends his knees and fires off the snap with an explosive first step. Uses his hands to protect himself, fluidly moves in every direction and slides down the line pursuing the action. Nicely redirects to the play and easily changes direction.
Neg:
Average strength at the point of attack. Can be a liability against the run. Easily handled by tight ends. Marginal production as a pass rusher.
Analysis:
Brown possesses the size/speed numbers to play at the next level and has flashed ability but must pull it altogether and quickly produce in summer camp to make a roster.
