Bio:
Two-year starter who made nine receptions for 68 yards and a touchdown in 2016. Set career highs with 16 receptions for 229 yards as a junior, adding a touchdown. Caught 15 passes for 143 yards and a score in 2014.
Pos:
Nice-sized tight end who flashed next-level ability the past two seasons. Strong at the point, blocks with terrific leverage and stays square. Fires off the snap, shows explosiveness at the point and plays to his size. Adjusts to the errant throw reaching back to grab the ball from the air and makes the tough catch in a crowd.
Neg:
Inconsistent in every aspect of his game. Does not consistently dominate the way you would expect a 250-pound tight end to. Really not part of the Oregon passing game. Marginal next-level speed.
Analysis:
Baylis possesses next-level size and growth potential and has flashed enough ability to make a roster as a third tight end if he’s willing to take his game to the next level.
