Three-year starter named First Team All-Big Ten as both a junior and a senior. Made seven starts at guard as a freshman before settling in at right tackle during his final two seasons with the Wolverines.
Underrated offensive line prospect who had a long and productive college career. Fires into blocks, sets with a wide base and works to bend his knees. Strong at the point, gets movement run blocking and easily turns defenders from the action. Stays square and a terrific position blocker, sealing opponents from the play. Effective with his hands, jolts defenders with violent punch and knocks them back off the ball. Keeps his feet moving, makes excellent use of angles and plays through the whistle.
Lacks footwork as well as lateral range. Average athlete and not effective blocking in motion.
Magnuson was ignored by scouts entering the season despite being a starter at Michigan since his freshman season. He has athletic limitations but his ability to line up at guard or right tackle will make him an attractive back up on Sunday.
