Bio:
Two-year starter who made 27 tackles with one sack in 2017. Recorded 36 tackles (six for loss) and 2.5 sacks as a junior.
Pos:
Tough, slug-it-out defensive tackle best as a gap occupier. Fires off the snap with a quick first step, plays with proper pad level and keeps his feet moving. Takes up a lot of room in the middle of the line, plays with quickness and rarely gives an inch to opponents. Focused on and often double-teamed by opponents in the middle of the line. Gets a lot of momentum up the field and can be tough to stop.
Neg:
Must use his hands better. Struggles to get off blocks once engaged. Does not display elite power. Average instincts. Slow to locate the ball.
Analysis:
Though Wilson flashed big-time ability last season, he also struggled against top competition and was handled throughout the Wisconsin game. He needs to develop more moves, improve his instincts and take his game to the next level to have a career in the NFL.
