Bio:
Three-year starter who earned Second Team All-ACC honors and led Wake Forest with 16.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks as a senior, adding 43 tackles and two forced fumbles. Named Third Team All-ACC after leading the team with 10.5 sacks and finishing second with 17 tackles for loss in 2016, making 50 tackles with two forced fumbles and four pass breakups. Posted 28 tackles (7.5 for loss) and a team-high 4.5 sacks despite missing five games with a concussion as a sophomore.
Pos:
Athletic front-seven defender effective in all areas of the game. Instinctive, effectively diagnoses the action and plays within the scheme. Fluid moving around the field, effective with his hands and plays tough, resilient football. Easily changes direction, shows the ability to immediately alter his angle of attack and quickly closes to the ball carrier. Quick off the edge, effective out of a three-point stance and standing over tackle and tough to knock off his feet.
Neg:
Lacks bulk. Easily blocked by a single opponent and turned from the action. May struggle to defend the run out of a three-point stance. Will be just over five months removed from shoulder surgery once training camp starts.
Analysis:
Ejiofor was a consistent force on the Wake Forest defense and is a player who leads by example. He’s an excellent combination of brains, athleticism and intensity. Ejiofor has the talent to develop into a starter at the next level, most likely as a 3-4 outside linebacker.
