Bio:
Two-year starter who earned Second Team All-SEC honors and made 49 tackles (3.5 for loss) with one interception, one sack and 10 pass breakups as a junior. Recorded 39 tackles, two interceptions, one forced fumble and eight PBUs in 2016. Started one game as a true freshman and posted 26 tackles and two pass breakups.
Pos:
Fast, explosive cornerback who plays aggressive football. Displays anticipation, has a closing burst and shows outstanding recovery speed. Keeps the action in front of him, mixes it up with receivers and does a solid job reading and diagnosing plays. Runs downfield with receivers and gets his head back around to locate the pass in the air. Makes a lot of athletic pass defenses and interceptions. Explosive at the point of attack and quickly moves up the field to defend the run.
Neg:
Has a thin build and will struggle with large receivers at the next level. Does not show good route recognition. Must improve his angles.
Analysis:
Jackson is a tremendously athletic prospect who showed flashes of ability but still has a ways to go before he’s NFL-ready. He has starting potential at the next level if he improves the details of his position.
