Bio:
Four-year starter who led Georgia with four interceptions and made 40 tackles (3.5 for loss) with five pass breakups in 2017. Posted 34 tackles and seven PBUs as a junior. Earned Second Team All-SEC honors and tied for the conference lead with six interceptions while matching the team lead with six pass breakups and recording 48 tackles and one sack in 2015. Made 34 tackles with three interceptions and five PBUs as a true freshman.
Pos:
Tough, hard-working safety with marginal athleticism. Instinctive, aggressive and works hard to get involved in the action. Keeps plays in front of him, quickly gets up the field and sells out to make plays. Effective facing the action, tracks the ball in the air and displays good burst out of his plant. Reads routes from deep center field and nicely times pass defenses.
Neg:
Lacks great overall speed. Not quick closing to the action. Gets turned on occasion. Plays more like a downhill safety.
Analysis:
Sanders was a terrific player in the Georgia defense and made as many plays with his head as he did with athletic ability. He has speed limitations but could be used in a zone system if he plays well on special teams.
