Bio:
Two-year starter who started both of his seasons at Kansas State after transferring from junior college. Earned First Team All-Big 12 honors as a defensive back and a returner in 2017 and led the Wildcats with four interceptions. Made 47 tackles (4.5 for loss) with nine pass breakups and returned one kickoff and one punt for a touchdown. Named First Team All-Big 12 and led the team with 16 pass breakups while recording 75 tackles and matching the team lead with three INTs.
Pos:
Small, speedy cornerback who gives great effort. Engages receivers at the line of scrimmage, mixes it up throughout the route and plays heads-up football. Fluid flipping his hips in transition, explosive and stays on the receiver’s hip out of breaks. Fires up the field and gives effort against the run.
Neg:
Consistently outmatched by bigger receivers. Gives up inside position and allows a lot of receptions.
Analysis:
Reed is fast and explosive, but his lack of length is a major red flag. He has possibilities as a dime back who can play over the slot receiver and should also lend a helping hand as a return specialist.
