Took over the full-time starting role in 2016. Ran for 1,000 yards as both a sophomore and a junior. Rushed 508 times for 2,252 yards and 17 touchdowns in his career and caught 27 passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns in his final season with the Hoosiers.
Strong north/south ball carrier with a one-dimensional game. Runs with excellent lean behind his pads, keeps his feet moving and breaks tackles to pick up yardage off initial contact. Drags defenders for extra yardage and is tough to bring down. Patient and waits for blocks to develop. Displays a burst through the hole, effectively follows blocks and works in all areas of the game. Gives effort blocking. Strong at the point, squares into defenders and slides in pass protection.
Solely a between-the-tackles, downhill ball carrier. Struggles when he tries to run east/west. Could show little more patience in his running. Poor pass catcher out of the backfield.
Redding was very productive carrying the ball for Indiana last season and gets the most from his ability. He has a one-dimensional game, poor size and speed numbers and is a poor pass catcher out of the backfield, which will make it a struggle for him at the next level.
