Pos:
Small, explosive linebacker who makes plays in every direction of the field. Started the past two seasons for LSU and posted a combined 256 tackles. Instinctive, fast and displays a terrific head for the ball. Physical, flows well laterally and works hard to get involved. Breaks down well and uses his hands to protect himself. Resilient and has an explosive closing burst. Quickly arrives on the scene, constantly flies around the action and wraps up tackling. Displays great explosion and flashes out of nowhere to make plays but remains disciplined. Sells out on the blitz, picks up coverage assignments and slides off blocks to get to the action.
Neg:
More of a drag-down tackler who often cannot bring opponents down at the point of attack. Occasionally overcommits and takes himself from the action. Has size limitations.
Analysis:
White was ultra-productive at LSU the past two seasons as a run-and-chase linebacker. He plays with great suddenness and violence but also adds instinct and discipline. White is very much in the mold of what teams are looking for these days in a linebacker, and he’s a defender who can quickly get from point A to point B and make the play.
