Bio:
First-year starter who earned Second Team All-Pac-12 honors and led the conference with 86 receptions while posting team highs with 1,114 receiving yards and nine touchdown catches as a junior. Started five games and caught 56 passes for 622 yards and seven TDs in 2016. Posted 10 catches for 161 yards as a true freshman.
Pos:
Small but quick receiver who plays faster than his 40 time. Fluid releasing off the line of scrimmage, immediately gets to top speed and displays tremendous quickness. Follows the quarterback across the field and comes back to the ball to make himself an available target, consistently extends his hands and snatches the ball from the air. Possesses quick, soft hands and immediately turns upfield and gives effort after the catch. Adjusts to errant throws and nicely makes receptions in stride.
Neg:
Average run-after-catch skill. More of a one-speed wideout and does not display a vertical burst. Will struggle in battles and against press coverage at the next level.
Analysis:
Burnett is a solid underneath receiver with return potential but must improve his ability after the catch. He’s solid in all areas but spectacular in none and projects as a fourth wideout at the next level.
