Bio:
Two-year starter at safety who earned Second Team All-Big Ten as a senior after making 51 tackles (4.5 for loss) with three interceptions and three pass breakups. Posted 46 tackles (2.5 for loss) with two pass breakups during his junior season.
Pos:
Developing safety coming off a career season. Plays heads-up football, keeps the action in front of him and displays excellent timing and anticipation. Hard hitter who is effective between the numbers and stays with coverage assignments. Does not make mental mistakes, consistently makes positive plays and sacrifices himself to make the tackle. Wraps up ball carriers and brings opponents down at the point of attack. Smart, intense and plays with a nice degree of quickness.
Neg:
Shows a bit of stiffness in his game and isn’t explosive. One-speed defender who lacks burst and recovery speed. Average production against the pass until his senior season.
Analysis:
Entering the year, Hill was not rated by scouts, but then he turned in a terrific season. He has athletic limitations but could be effective in a zone system and produce on special teams.
