Bio:
Four-year starter who played left tackle during his final two seasons at Hawaii. Earned First Team All-Mountain West honors in 2017 and Second Team All-Mountain West honors in 2016. Named Honorable Mention All-Mountain West in 2015 and started 12 games at right guard and one at left guard. Started 11 games at right guard as a redshirt freshman.
Pos:
Quick, flexible tackle who projects to guard at the next level. Fires off the snap, keeps his feet moving and shows the ability to slide in space. Sets with a wide base, adjusts to oncoming defenders and effectively uses his hands. Makes proper use of angles, stays square and can recover to knock defenders from their angles of attack. Blocks with good lean and works through the whistle.
Neg:
Does not sink his butt at the line of scrimmage. Not a natural knee bender. Lacks a dominant base and gets pushed back off the line.
Analysis:
Allen offers possibilities as a zone blocker but must improve his strength and consistently play with leverage.
