Bio:
Graduate transfer who began his college career at The Citadel before transferring to Miami for the 2017 season. Started six games for the Hurricanes and made 39 tackles with one interception and one pass breakup in 2017 despite missing three games with a lower-body injury. Earned First Team FCS All-America honors in 2016 and Second Team FCS All-America honors in 2015, combining for 81 tackles, 11 interceptions and 16 pass breakups over those two seasons.
Pos:
Nice-sized corner with an erratic game. Smooth, fluid and best facing the action. Plays with quickness and explosiveness, has an excellent closing burst and sells out to make plays. Fluid pedaling in reverse, keeps the action in front of him and mixes it up with receivers.
Neg:
Very quick out of his backpedal and prefers to side shuffle downfield. Consistently turns his back to the play, struggles to react and gets beaten by opponents.
Analysis:
Delaney flashed skill prior to his arrival at Miami but failed to improve last season. He offers solid size and athleticism and could be used as a dime back in zone coverage.
