Two-year starter at defensive tackle named Third Team All-ACC after posting 41 tackles (14 for loss) and three sacks in 2016. Junior totals include 40 tackles (6.5 for loss) and two sacks. Made four starts as a sophomore in 2014 after redshirting the prior year due to a season-ending Achilles injury, making 20 tackles (two for loss) with 1.5 sacks.
Short but explosive interior lineman with possibilities as a three technique tackle. Plays with proper leverage and knee bend, keeps his hands active throughout the action and effectively uses them to protect himself. Fires off the snap with a terrific first step, displays power in his lower body and holds the point. Remains disciplined and does more than pin his ears back and rush up the field.
Easily blocked or sealed from the action. Displays limited range, not quick or fast getting down the line of scrimmage or effective in pursuit. Mostly a first step lineman.
Brown was a solid college defensive lineman but comes with limitations for the next level. His approach and effort will make him an attractive to defensive coaches.
