Two-year starter who earned First Team All-PFL honors after his junior year but only played seven games in 2016 as a result of a knee injury. Finished his career with 422 rushes for 2,632 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Nice-sized ball carrier coming off a knee injury. Strong, keeps his feet moving up the field and falls forward when tackled. Effectively follows blocks, finds the small creases in the offensive line and squeezes through the hole to pick up positive yardage. Terrific pass catcher out of the backfield, adjusts to the errant throw and extends his hands to make the reception away from his frame. Displays terrific vision as a runner and blocker.
Struggles when he tries to run east/west. Possesses average quickness, shows a limited burst and is a one-speed ball carrier. Now coming off a knee injury.
Entering the year Jones was graded as a potential middle-round choice and performed well prior to his injury. He has a long road ahead of him but is someone to consider for a practice squad if he’s healthy.
