Bio:
Three-year starter who earned First Team All-MVC honors in 2016 and 2017. Led Illinois State with 12 pass breakups, tied for the team lead with two interceptions and made 57 tackles (4.5 for loss) with two sacks as a senior. Led the team with 13 pass breakups and recorded 59 tackles (5.5 for loss), two interceptions, one sack and one forced fumble as a junior. Broke up a team-high 10 passes and made 78 tackles as a sophomore.
Pos:
Athletic cornerback with big upside potential. Fluid in his backpedal, quick flipping his hips in transition and mixes it up with receivers. Plays with excellent balance, gets his head back around and tracks the pass in the air. Displays burst to the ball out of his plant and effectively positions himself against opponents to defend the throw.
Neg:
Gets caught peeking at the quarterback and loses his receiver. Playing speed is a concern despite his 40 time. Quick to leave his backpedal.
Analysis:
Despite not being graded by scouts entering the season, Harris showed next-level potential the past two seasons and comes with NFL size and speed. He needs to fine tune his game but could eventually develop into a productive nickel back if properly coached.
