Bio:
First-year starter who spent one season at Utah after transferring from Oregon as a graduate student. Earned Second Team All-Pac-12 honors and led the Utes with 70 receptions for 980 yards and six receiving touchdowns as a senior. Was dismissed from the Oregon football program in July 2017 after an arrest for DUI. One-year starter with the Ducks who led the team with 606 receiving yards and tied for the team led with five TD receptions on 43 catches as a junior. Named Second Team All-Pac-12 and caught 32 passes for 609 yards and six scores in 2015 despite missing six games due to a suspension for failing a drug test, which also kept him out of Oregon’s bowl game the prior season. Made 37 catches for 704 yards and four touchdowns as a redshirt freshman.
Pos:
Oregon transfer who comes off a career year. Fluid, smooth and shows nice quickness. Comes back to the ball to make himself an available target, extends his hands and snatches the ball from the air. Plays with balance, nicely tracks the pass in the air and adjusts to errant throws to make receptions in stride. Displays excellent focus and concentration and keeps plays in bounds after the catch.
Neg:
Lacks a deep burst and cannot get separation down the field. Had a very spotty career at Oregon and would disappear for stretches.
Analysis:
Carrington possesses the size and skill to line up as a fifth receiver at the next level and also has the quickness necessary to be used as a punt returner.
